The National Chairman’s Report (4th Quarter 2006)
After 43 years, this is the only time that all the chapters are moving as one. One in organizing and consolidating the regional councils, One in reviewing the issues that involve our By laws, our tradition, One in our effort to document our membership, and one in our vision to be the alternative brotherhood/sisterhood of the new millennium.
October 20 and 21 marked the beginning of the nationwide consolidation of the Gamma Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority. The national conference, which was held in Quezon City, paved way in opening the potentials of our organization and the opportunity of connecting members nationwide. The possibility that our organization is a potent force in the future development of our country, and the prospect that our members will become leaders in their respective communities.
And this will happen only if we take the steps in following our vision.
There was only several work to do in accomplishing the Phase One of our NatCon plans:
1. The review of our By Laws.
2. Regional Consolidation
3. The Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao Summer Camp.
4. National ID.
So, Where have we gone?
The first to come to organize the regional meeting was the Central-North Luzon Council headed by Bro Polet. The meeting was held in Santiago City, Isabela. Activity matrix was set to finalize the schedule. Regional concerns were also discussed as well as the political plan of individual members. Simultaneous to the said Regional Meeting was the NatCon re echo and discussion in Bicol, Camarines Sur and Lopez Quezon conducted by Bro Josh Falla..
Second to rally for the Regional Meeting was the Southern Mindanao Council. This was held in Koronadal City last Nov 18, 2006. This also gave way in consolidating the chapters in GenSan, Cotabato, Koronadal, and other areas in Southern Mindanao.
Then followed by Central Mindanao Council last December 9 in Iligan City. The by laws were then reviewed and Mindanao Summer Camp was set. The said Regional Council meeting was attended by National Vice Chairman Idel Reyes of Omega Rho. The council meeting was facilitated by Bro RM of Rho Theta (MSU-IIT). The Panay island Council also had its meeting last December 16, 2006. 3 campuses participated in the meeting and officers were elected to facilitate the review of the by-laws and accomplish the National ID. The meeting was facilitated by Bro Fusion.
The NCR held it’s meeting last December 12, 2006 in Quezon City. Central Visayas also held its meeting last December along with their Christmas party.
To sum it up, all those organized councils were able to discuss initially the plans and programs as directed in the National Conference. The delegates of the NatCon were able to deliver the issues that was discuss in the NatCon in their respective regions/council. The chapters then were able to see the general direction that they have to work for in the year 2007. Also, alumni from different regions went out again to throw their support and commitment as they renewed their vows for the cause of our brotherhood/sisterhood.
To all the brothers and sisters who made the NatCon happened specially the GENAMEX and Canada; this is the start of a much bigger responsibility and the commencement of paradigm shift of Gamma Epsilon and Gamma Lambda Epsilon.
