For God so loved the world...

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner the people were in and out of the cold. The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said, "Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you? You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and its awful cold in there for tonight. Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in." So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16" The lady said "Come on in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16... I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16... I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out. The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16...I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible. She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do you understand John 3:16? " she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it." She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought: John 3:16 -- don't understand and it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe.

You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end. I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the directions.

Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father." Pass this on only if you mean it.

I do Love God. He is my source of existence. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Phil 4:13 If you love God and are not ashamed of all the marvelous things he has done for you, send this on.

Take 60 seconds & give this a shot! Let's just see if Satan stops this one.

All you do is:

1) Simply say a small prayer for the person who sent you this, "Father, God bless this person in whatever it is that You know he or she may be needing this day!"

2) Then send it on to ten other people. Within hours ten people have prayed for you, and you caused a multitude of people to pray to God for other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life for doing the thing that you know He loves.

Important Health Info

1. Lungs & Big Intestines share the system. If one or the other is infected or sick, the other will also be sick.

2. When the Liver is in pain, there is not much signs or symptoms to be detected. Before many cancers happen, usually the Liver will be the first to get sick.

3. Liver filters out the poisons and it attacks all other viruses in the body.

4. 99% Chinese have weak livers as they eat a lot of meat, and high fat foods.

5. The Liver 's repair time is effective from 11pm-3am. Therefore, sleeping late after 11pm & Having late night supper 2 hours before sleep especially high cholesterol and high fat foods weakens the Liver as it does not have sufficient time to rest and regenerate. Even when one sleeps in later in the morning to replace lost sleep will not help.

6. If U get very hungry just before bedtime, eat some fruits & vegetables which is easy to digest. Meat takes about 4 hours to digest before it goes into the intestines. Meat cooked in oil takes about 12 hours before going into the intestines. This will provoke the Liver & the digestive tract to overwork in filtering the toxins thus U will tend to feel very tired when you wake up in the morning.

7. Oil is the main culprit that will weaken the functions of the Liver and damage it. Medication cannot cure Liver problem and it will damage it even further.

8. Cold-pressed Olive oil, carrot, cucumber, raw chili, garlic, onion, little bamboo salt/sea-salt, radish, pumpkin and small fish are good for the body. Sesame oil is ok.

9. Food-preservatives, Food colourings, Bee Hoon is processed with Aluminum (causes Dementia), Bleach, syrup, Pesticides are bad for Liver health. Wrong medication can shrink and damage the Liver badly. Radiation from Microwave oven destroys all nutrients in the food.

10. Western medication is bad for the Liver. Chinese medication is bad for Kidney. White radish will disable the effects of the Chinese medication.

11. Sleeping late for children is unhealthy as it weakens memory and intelligence.

12. Best Healthy times to sleep is 9pm especially so for people who is sick or recovering from it and do not sleep later than 11pm. Lots of rest is good for the Liver to recover. When using eye-cover during bedtime, use only pure cotton and do not use Rubber, latex material.

13. A Detoxification Diet helps the Liver & Intestines to recover fast. Natural fresh foods are best for the Liver and overall well being. Do not rely on packed, bottled or canned health foods/vitamins as they lack a lot of natural and essential vitamins which can only be derived from pure, unprocessed natural foods.

14. A balance of mental/emotional state of mind is very important to the total well-being. Too much Stress of all kinds, loud noises/music, anger, irritation suppressed for too long, pessimism, depressive moods, no goals in life, feeling life has no value or blaming the world & everyone else for his life will further weaken the body system. When the Liver is unhealthy, the Person usually has a bad temper and gets easily angered or irritated.

15. Giving out Gas, perspiration and urine are ways of purging out the toxins from the body. Do not use too much of air-conditioners as they suppress the body from perspiration. This natural way of purging helps to reduce the load of the Liver. Open the windows for fresh air.

16. Give Warm to any part of the body that is in pain will help ease it or soaking in a bathtub of warm water up to waist level will also help. Be careful if U have heart problems, do not soak up to heart level or else U might feel uncomfortable, as your heart might get too stimulated.

17. Brown rice, wheat, oats, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yam and maize but we must be careful when buying these foods as they contain great amount of Pesticides. Maize and Brown rice contains B complex vitamin but be careful as Maize these days, has a lot of Pesticides in them too. Organic foods are better alternatives but they are more costly.

18. Blood A type has higher chances of Cancer diseases.

19. Blood O type has higher chances of Liver diseases.

20. Women Lives Longer because they are more even-tempered due to their menstruation cycle expels the anger suppressed inside. It is better not to talk when a person is feeling very angry at that point of time. Breathe very slowly for 7 times and just smile.

21. Fat or overweight people usually have problems with their liver, heart and digestive system as they eat too much meat, high cholesterol and high fat foods which will damage their Liver and thus affect their heart and blood pressure

22. Gastric problem is also associated with ingesting too much meat and high fat foods.

23. Heart & Uterus are linked together. Drinking 3000 cc-4000 cc of good filtered water with a healthy detoxification diet will help keep them healthy too.

24. There is no need to go for unnecessary check up. X-rays, CT scans (radiation is 5x-6x higher) are bad for the body as it kills thousands of cells and thus weakens the body further. Cancers & diseases are sometimes quite hard to detect in your Yearly Health checkups or blood tests. By the time they are detected, that particular part of the body has already been quite damaged. Always get a second opinion from another doctor before proceeding with the recommended surgery. If it is Liver disease, medication will destroy it further. Go on a proper detoxification diet and sleep by 9pm daily will help the Liver to recover much faster.

25. Vegetable and Fruits are high in Vitamin Cs which will help detoxify the poisons in the body, thus helping the organs to recover during the detoxification. Drinking lots of water 2000 cc-3000 cc will help the Liver as urination is one way of detoxification.

26. Morning hours between 5am - 7am is the best time for Bowel movement otherwise the intestines might absorb the poisons from the digested matter to be distributed to the rest of the body and thus slow poisoning of the body will occur. This will result in the body getting sick.

27. Using Kelp Powder mix in water can help to stop itchy scalp.

28. Stones in gallbladder, liver, brain, etc. are usually poisons accumulated from animal protein and oily foods.

29. Minerals, calcium, iron strengthen the kidney/bladder.

30. A Person having Mild Liver or Kidney problems can eat Fish & Beans only after 4 months of detoxification diet.

31. If the whites of the eyes are Yellow means You might have Liver & Gall Bladder problem.

32. Red vegetables or fruits are good for the Brain and the Heart.

33. Yellow vegetable or fruits are good for Digestion. Be careful when choosing. Cabbage and Banana are good but they may have lots of pesticides.

34. Low Blood pressure is ok as long as the individual feels fine and healthy.

35. Having Pimples may mean that the toxins in the blood cannot be purged out.

36. Exercise in preferably done in the morning as there are lots of oxygen from the trees and plants. Nighttime is not advisable as there are lots of carbon dioxide coming from the trees and plants. Afternoon is too hot. After 40 years old, try to do light exercises like long distance walking and not to do heavy exercises.

37. Having Headaches may mean weak pump of blood/energy from the Heart shows lack of oxygen.

38. Black area under the eyes means Liver & Kidneys are weak.

39. For Arthritis problem, eat High vitamin C, kelp and detoxification diet.

40. People with Breast or Uterine cancer must not eat sea-cucumber or salt foods.

41. High-water content fruits are easier to digest.

42. Exercise is good for the heart.

43. Use as few electrical appliances and household items in your homes. In the long term, they can cause radiation exposure and ruin your health especially your television set, radio, huge sound system. Don't place them in your bedroom otherwise, you might find difficulty in sleeping thru feeling very tired in the morning. Also, try not to watch too much TV or surf the computer for a long time especially children otherwise in the long run, the radiation from the TV & computer might cause loss of memory and intelligence. Do not switch on the lights in your home or else too much of light exposure overhead might also be damaging to your
body especially if you have not been very fit or healthy in your lifestyle.

44. If U want to take a bigger step to a truly healthier lifestyle, please use only stainless, ceramic (without lead), glass for your cooking, eating utensils. In the long run, Aluminium materials will give U dementia. Also get rid of your non-stick pans and cooking utensils as the coating will eventually fade into your food which cause poisoning. Use water to cook your food lightly. Overcooking your food will cause it to loose most if not all of its nutrients.

The Brick...

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared.

Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"

The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..."

With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.

"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message:

"Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!" God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Thought for the Day:
If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring.
He sends you a sunrise every morning

Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!
Send this to every "beautiful person" you wish to bless.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without
sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for
the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in...
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Rules from God

1. Wake Up !!
Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made;let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart."
I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul."
Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!...
For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..."
Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!...
To the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!...
For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."
Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!...
Your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."
Philippians 4:6

Send this to the people you care about. I thought this was mighty special, just like you.

Blessings from Trees...

"Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy, they will sing before the Lord, for he comes … to judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his truth" (Psalm 96:11-13, NIV).

Imagine, if you can, living in a world without trees. How desolate such a place would be. But trees are not just a thing of beauty. They have a very strategic role to play in our world. They convert light into energy and "breathe" the carbon dioxide exhaled by man and animals. They use this gas to help manufacture food and in its place give off oxygen which man again breathes. They help clean the air of dust particles, stop erosion and restore deserts. They provide food, drink, lumber, and innumerable other products. Just how they lift enormous amounts of water to their highest branches and manufacture food is still a mystery.

As the poet so eloquently put it:
I think that I shall never see
a poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose thirsty mouth is pressed
against the earth's sweet flowering breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
and lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
a nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
but only God can make a tree.
– Joyce Kilmer

Suggested prayer: "Thank you God for all the beauty and functionality you have created in nature. May these ever remind us of your majesty, your awesome power, and your everlasting love. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen." <:))))

Nuggets of Wisdom

1. A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

2. Failure people talk about problems and obstacles, successful people talk about solutions and opportunities.

3. Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.

4. No one can predict to what heights you can soar; even you will not know until you spread your wings.

5. It is amazing how much people can get done if they do not worry about who gets the credit.

6. The good neighbor looks beyond the external accidents and discerns those inner qualities that make all men human and, therefore, brothers.

7. One man with courage makes a majority.

8. Duty is a very personal thing. It is what comes from knowing the need to take action and not just a need to urge others to do something.

9. If you have faith, not even sickness or death can keep you from waiting and watching---for the signs of growth and life that never end.

10. To be an inspiring leader you do not have to be the smartest, or even the hardest-working person in the group. What it does require is that you be firm---firm in your dedication to excellence, even if it makes you temporarily unpopular. Leadership doesnt mean winning popularity contests.

11. We must speak to them with our hands, before we try to speak to them with our lips---thats service.

12. If you want to be successful, be like a duck. Above the surface be calm and serene, but below the surface, paddle like HELL!

13. Tact: Ability to tell a man hes open-minded when he has a hole in his head.

14. They said you have to use your five best players, but I found you win with the five that fit together best.

15. Temper is a funny thing. It spoils children, ruins men, and strengthens steel.

16. Goals help to organize the talents and treasures of life. Without some goal toward which to work life settles for activity rather than accomplishment.

17. If you say what you think, dont expect to hear only what you like.

18. Nothing great or new can be done without enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the flywheel, which carries your saw through the knots in the log. A certain excessiveness seems a necessary element in all greatness.

19. The stumbling block is not the impossibility of changing ourselves, not even the difficulty of changingit is that we dont want to change.

20. Communication is the key to a working organization

God's Angels

This was written by a Hospice physician of Metro Denver:

"I just had one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and wanted to share it with my family and dearest friends:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die. I barely managed to coast, cursing, into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over.

Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the "quickie mart" building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay. When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel. At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95. I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying "I don't want my kids to see me crying," so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now.

So I asked, "And you were praying?" That made her back away from me a little but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent me."

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little. She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City. Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan 1, and finally in desperation had finally called her parents, with whom she had not spoken to in a while. They agreed to let her move in with them and try to get on her feet there. So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for a while. I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So, are you like an angel or something?" This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people." It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong."

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...Psalms 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

Instructions were to pick four people that I wanted God to bless, especially for the months in 2005, and I picked you. Please pass this to four people you want to be blessed and a copy back to me.

This prayer is powerful and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards, let's continue to pray for one another.

Here is the prayer:

"Father, I ask You to bless my children, grandchildren, friends, relatives and email buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace, In Jesus' precious name. Amen."

I know I picked more than four and you can, too. When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could You please get that. Being blessed is GOOD...being HIGHLY FAVORED is best! Don't settle!

Have a Blessed Day,
Katie

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14

Tips for everyday household...

Some Tips for everyday household problems!

1) Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of
a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.

2) To cure headaches: Take a lime, cut it in
half, and rub it on your forehead.
The throbbing feeling will go away.

3)To keep potatoes from budding,
place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
(I have not tried this yet!)

4) To prevent egg shells from cracking,
add a pinch of salt to the water before
hard-boiling.

5) Run your hands under cold water before
pressing Rice Krispie treats in the pan; the
marshmallow won't stick to your fingers.

6) To easily remove burnt-on food from your
skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap
and enoughwater to cover bottom of pan, and bring
to a boil on stove-top. Your skilletwill be much
easier to clean.

7) Spray your Tupperware with nonstick cooking
spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces. You
won't have any no more stains.

8)When a cake recipe calls for flouring the
baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead.
You won't have a white mess on the outside of the
cake.

9)If you accidentally over-salt a dish while
it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato. It
will absorb theexcess salt for an instant "fix me up".

10) Brush beaten egg white over pie crust before
baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

11) Place a slice of apple in hardened brown
sugar to soften it back up.

12) When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of
sugar to help bring out the corns natural
sweetness.

13) To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse
it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is
fresh. But if it rises to thesurface, throw it away.

14) When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch
tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle.
Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, then
pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters
painlessly and easily.

15) If you have a problem opening jars try using
latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non-slip
grip that makes opening jars easy.

16) Potatoes will take food stains off your
fingers. Just slice and rub raw potato on the
stains and rinse with water.

17) To get rid of the itch from a mosquito bite
try applying soap on the area for instant relief.

18) Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they
are said to never cross a chalk line. So get
your chalk out and draw a line on the floor
or wherever ants tend to march. You'll see for
yourself they won't cross the line!

19) Use air-freshener to clean mirrors.
It does a good job and better still, leaves a
lovely smell to the shine.

20) NOW Look what you can do with Alka Seltzer:

a. Clean a toilet. Drop in two Alka-Seltzer
tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush.
The citric acid and effervescent action cleans
vitreous china.
b. Clean a vase. To remove a stain from the
bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with
water and drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets.
c. Polish jewelry. Drop two Alka-Seltzer
tablets into a glass of water and immerse the
jewelry for two minutes.
d. Clean a thermos bottle. Fill the bottle with
water, drop in four Alka-Seltzer tablets, and
let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).
e. Unclog a drain. Clear the sink drain by
dropping three Alka-Seltzer tablets down the
drain followed by a cup of Heinz White Vinegar.
Wait a few minutes, then run the hot water.

21) Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your
pancake batter onto the hot griddle
for perfectly shaped pancakes every time!

Chicken Soup for the Beer Drinkers Soul...

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

-- Jack Handy
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

--Frank Sinatra

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not!

--Stephen Wright
When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. Sooooo, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!

Our God is an Awesome God!

Moses and the people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with them?

They had to be fed, and feeding 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of food.

According to the Quartermaster General in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each at least a mile long, would be required!

Besides you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long, just for one day.

And just think, they were forty years in transit.

And Oh yes! They would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons each day and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long, just to bring water!

And then another thing!

They had to get across the Red Sea at night. Now, if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get through. So there had to be a space in the Red Sea,3 miles wide so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night.

But then, there is another problem...............each time they camped at the end of the day, a campground two-thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles long....think of it! This much space for camping.

Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt? I think not!

You see, Moses believed in God. God took care of these things for him.

Now do you think God has any problem taking care of all your needs?

I asked the Lord to bless you As I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way.......... His love is always with you, His promises are true, And when we give Him all our cares, you know He will see us through.

Our God is an Awesome God!!

So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best, just remember I'm praying and God will do the rest.

A new way of car jacking (not a joke)...

Please keep this circulating...

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rear view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off! Your engine was running, (ladies would have their purse in the car) and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later, and be thankful that you read this e-mail.

I hope you will forward this to friends and family...especially to women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!

Steve Ray's Open Letter

We stepped into the church and it was old and a bit dark. Mass had just begun and we sat toward the front. We didn't know what to expect here in Istanbul, Turkey. I guess we expected it to be a somber Mass but quiet and somber it was not-I thought I heard angels joyously singing behind me.

The voices were rich, melodic and be autiful. What I discovered as I spun around to look did not surprise me because I had seen and heard the same thing in other churches around the world. It was not a choir of angels with feathered wings and halos but a group of delightful Filipino Catholics with smiles of delight and joy on their faces as hey worshiped God and sang His praises. I had seen this many times before in Rome, in Israel, in the United States and other countries.

Filipinos have special traits and they are beautifully expressed as I gazed at the happy throng giving thanks to God. What are the special traits which characterize these happy people? I will share a few that I have noticed-personal observations-as I have traveled around the world, including visits to the Philippines.

FIRST, there is a sense of community, of family. These Filipino Christians did not sit apart from each other in different isles. They sat together, closely. They didn't just sing quietly, mumbling, or simply mou thing the words. No, they raised their voices in harmony together as though they enjoyed the sense of unity and communion among them. They are family even if they are not related.

SECOND, they have an inner peace and joy which is rare in the world today. When most of the world's citizens are worried and fretful, I have found Filipinos to have joy and peace-a deep sense of God's love that overshadows them. They have problems too, and many in the Philippines have less material goods than others in the world, yet there is still a sense of happy trust in God and love of neighbor.

THIRD, there is a love for God and for his Son Jesus that is almost synonymous with the word Filipino. There is also something that Filipinos are famous for around the world - their love for the Blessed Mother. Among the many Filipinos I have met, the affectionate title for Mary I always hear from their lips is "Mama Mary." For these gentle folks Mary is not just a theological idea, a hi storical person, or a statue in a church Mary is the mother of their Lord and their mother as well, their "mama."

The Philippines is a Catholic nation-the only such nation in Asia-and this wonderful country exports missionaries around the world. They are not hired to be missionaries, not official workers of the church. No, they are workers and educators, doc tors, nurses and housekeepers that go to other lands and travel to the far reaches of the earth, and everywhere they go they take the joyous gospel of Jesus with them. They make a somber Mass joyful when they burst into song. They convict the pagan of sin as they always keep the love of Jesus and the Eucharist central in their lives.

My hope and prayer, while I am here in the Philippines sharing my conversion story from Baptist Protestant to Roman Catholic, is that the Filipino people will continue to keep these precious qualities. I pray that they will continue loving their families, loving the Catholic C hurch, reading the Bible, loving Jesus, His Mother and the Eucharist.

As many other religions and sects try to persuade them to leave the Church, may God give the wisdom to defend the Catholic faith. As the world tempts them to sin and seek only money and fame and power, may God grant them the serenity to always remember that obedience to Christ and love for God is far more important than all the riches the world can offer.

May the wonderful Filipino people continue to be a light of the Gospel to the whole world!

Your Parachute...

Charles Plumb was a U.S. Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile.

Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and spent 6 years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the ordeal and now lectures on lessons learned from that experience.

One day, while Plumb and his wife were sitting in a restaurant, a man at another table came up and said, "You're Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down!" "How in the world did you know that?" asked Plumb. "I packed your parachute," the man replied.

Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped Plumb's hand and said, "I guess it worked!" Plumb assured him, "It sure did. If your chute hadn't worked, I wouldn't be here today."

Plumb couldn't sleep that night, thinking about that man. Plumb says, "I kept wondering what he might have looked like in a Navy uniform: a white hat, a bib in the back, and bell-bottom trousers. I wonder how many times I might have seen him and not even said 'Good morning, how are you?' or anything because, you see, I was a fighter pilot and he was just a sailor."

Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor had spent on a long wooden table in the bowels of the ship, carefully weaving the shrouds and folding the silks of each parachute, holding in his hands each time the fate of someone he didn't know.

Now, Plumb asks his audience, "Who's packing your parachute?" Everyone has someone who provides what he or she needs to make it through the day.

Plumb also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his plane was shot down over enemy territory-he needed his physical parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his spiritual parachute. He called on all these supports before reaching safety.

Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important. We may fail to say "hello", "please", or "thank you", congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason.

As you go through this week, this month, this year, recognize people who pack your parachute. I am sending you this as my way of thanking you for your part in packing my parachute. And I hope you will send it on to those who have helped pack yours!

Have a great day!

Things are not always what they seem...

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem."

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied. "When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it."

"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later...

Some people come into our lives and quickly go…

Some people become friends and stay awhile...leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts...
and we are never quite the same because we have made a good friend!!

Ralph Marston Quotes...

To achieve
To achieve, stop talking about it and start getting it done. To achieve, stop seeing every obstacle as an excuse and start seeing those obstacles as forming a pathway to your goal.

To achieve, stop looking for a quick and easy shortcut. To achieve, start putting forth the diligent, sustained effort that will create real value.

To achieve, stop complaining about how things have been. To achieve, start making the most of what you have right now.

To achieve, stop using your own words and thoughts to put yourself down. To achieve, start expecting the best of yourself, and know that you're indeed fully capable of it.

To achieve, stop pretending that you are someone else. To achieve, get connected to the authentic, unique person you are.

To achieve, develop a vision so positive, meaningful and compelling that you simply cannot sit still. Then get up, go out and delight in creating your own special greatness for the world.
-- Ralph Marston

Can you see them?
The biggest opportunities don't announce themselves with trumpets and bright lights. They hide quietly, waiting for those who have the vision to see them and the commitment to follow them.

Life's most valuable opportunities are completely invisible to people who seek instant gratification. Those opportunities wait patiently for someone who is persistent enough and motivated enough to give them the time and devotion they deserve. A person who has no concern or respect for others has no way of connecting to the most worthwhile opportunities. For the most grand and valuable opportunities are, at their heart, opportunities to serve and to create value for others.

The best opportunities cannot be seen by the person who demands a sure thing, or who expects to reap large rewards with little effort.Because the best opportunities derive their value from the risk and effort necessary to bring them to fruition. The most valuable opportunities are often overlooked because they first appear much smaller than most people expect. Yet they are easily spotted by those who understand that seeing the opportunity is just the beginning.

The biggest opportunities are hidden in the smallest moments. See them, understand them, make use of them, and they can lift you to incredible heights.
-- Ralph Marston

This will give you the chills........Good chills!

A young man had been to a prayer group meeting and a Bible Study. Listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice was shared during the session. The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?" After the prayer meeting he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.

Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.

It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God...If you still speak to people speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey." As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.

"Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk." It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home.

As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, "Turn Down that street."

This is crazy he thought and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street. At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, “Okay, God, I will"! . He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed.

Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street." The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.

"Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here."

He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?" Then the door opened before the young man could get away.

The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is it?" The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk." His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I ask him to send an Angel with some milk. Are you an Angel?"

The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers.

THIS IS A SIMPLE TEST....? If you believe that God is alive and well, send this to at least ten people and the person that sent it to you!!!!!!!!

This is so true. Sometimes it's the simplest things that God asks us to do that cause us, if we are obedient to what He's asking, to be able to hear. His voice more clear than ever. Please listen, and obey! It will bless you (and the world). Phil 4:13

This is an easy test, you score 100 or zero. It's your choice. If you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the directions. Jesus said, "if you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

Not ashamed? Pass this on . . . only if you mean it. Yes, I do Love God.

Big message in a little story...

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. ""What food might this contain?"" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in myprayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember - when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

REMEMBER: EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY; OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.

You Have Wealth Under Your Nose

By Bo Sanchez
From his book: You Have the Power to Create

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. "Bo, this girl in my office is a real looker," many husband will say like this. "But it's not her Wynona Rider features that got me. I'm head over heels with her because she's also understanding, intelligent, tender-- so many things that my wife has not."

Sure. Guys, trust me on this. Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman who will be more charming. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Be a better cook. Have greater sex appeal. Be a more efficient housekeeper. And you will find a woman who will need you and pursue you and go loco over you more than your wife ever did. Because no wife is perfect. Because a wife will only have 90% of what you're looking for. So adultery takes place when a husband looks for the missing 10%.

Let's say your wife is melancholic by nature. You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laugh no matter what she says: "I broke my arm yesterday, Hahahaha..." Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smelling of garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high heels, and a red pencil-cut skirt. Or because your wife is the quiet type (a rare find), your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame who has the makings of a talk show host like Oprah.

But wait! That's only 10% of what you don't have. Don't throw away the 90% that you already have!

That's not all. Add to your wife's 90% the 1000% that represents all the years that you have been with each other. The storms you have weathered together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a couple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. The wealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers. Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already have.

But I'm not just talking about marriage.I'm talking about life! About your jobs. About your friends. About your children. About your prayer groups. About your lifestyles.

Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeks through the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he's missing? "They have got more leg room! Oh my, their food is served in porcelain! Wow, their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've got personal videos!" I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip!

Don't live your life like that. Forget about what the world says is first class. (Do you know that there are many first class passengers who are miserable in first class -- because they're not riding in a private Lear Jet?)

My main message: If you start thanking God for what you have right now, wherever you are is first class!

You have wealth under your nose. Thank Him!

Five Finger Prayers

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

If you decide to send this to a friend, you might brighten someone's day! Pass this on to someone special... I did.

Excellent Info on Sending E-mail

This came direct from a System Administrator for a Corporate System. It is an excellent message that ABSOLUTELY applies to ALL of us who send e-mails.

Please read the short letter below...

Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% DO NOT.

Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? Do you hate it? Every time you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the message before you, namely their e-mail addresses & names. As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every E-mail address that has come across his computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and he will make five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel! How do you stop it? Well, there are two easy steps:

(1) When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message (at the top). That's right, DELETE them. High light them and delete them, backspace them, cut them, whatever it is you know how to do. It only takes a second. You MUST click the "Forward" button first and then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message. If you don't click on "Forward" first, you won't be able to edit the message at all.

(2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the To: or Cc: columns for adding e-mail address. Always use the BCC:(blind carbon copy) column for listing the e-mail addresses. This is the way that people you send to only see their own e-mail address. If you don't see your BCC: option click on where it says To: and your address list will appear. Highlight the address and choose BCC: and that's it, it's that easy. When you send to BCC: your message will automatically say "Undisclosed Recipients in the "TO:" field of the people who receive it.

(3) Remove any "FW:" in the subject line. You can re-name the subject if you wish or even fix spelling.

(4) ALWAYS hit your Forward button from the actual e-mail you are reading. Ever get those e-mails that you have to open 10 pages to read the one page with the information on it? By Forwarding from the actual page you wish someone to view, you stop them from having to open many e-mails just to see what you sent.

Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition? It states a position and asks you to add your name and address and to forward it to 10 or 15 people or your entire address book. The email can be forwarded on and on and can collect thousands of names and email addresses. A FACT: The completed petition is actually worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer because of the wealth of valid names and email addresses contained therein. If you want to support the petition, send it as your own personal letter to the intended recipient. Your position may carry more weight as a personal letter than a laundry list of names and email address on a petition.

So please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses.

Finally, here's an idea!!! Let's send this to everyone you know (but strip my address off first). This is something that SHOULD be forwarded.

Life's Seasons and Lessons

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.

The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.
Don't judge life by one difficult season.
Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are
sure to come some time

Aspire to Inspire Before You Expire!
Live Simply. Love Generously. Care Deeply. Speak Kindly.
Leave the Rest to God.
Happiness keeps You Sweet,
Trials keep You Strong,
Sorrows keep You Human,
Failures keep You Humble,
Success keeps You Glowing,
But Only God keeps You Going!

Pax Et Bonum

"Pax et bonum!" This is a familiar Franciscan greeting. You may still hear it in the streets of Assisi. Its origin is somewhat of a mystery but its message is something that all the world needs to hear.

In his Testament St. Francis mentions a greeting that the Lord gave to him. This greeting was: "May the Lord give you peace". He used to begin his preaching with this greeting to the people.
But The Legend of Three Companions mentions another greeting. It tells of a certain mysterious man who – like John the Baptist to Jesus – preceded St. Francis. He went through out Assisi greeting people with "Pax et bonum ." He seems to have disappeared after St. Francis’s conversion when he started to preach. Ironically, it was this that became the traditional Franciscan greeting and not St. Francis’s own greeting.

But the greeting of "Pax et bonum" is very Franciscan. "Pax" is the Latin word for peace, while "bonum" means good. Both peace and goodness are strong elements in the life and spirituality of St. Francis. Throughout his life, St. Francis was an agent for peace and reconciliation. He preached to the people to repent and make peace with God. He also worked to establish peace between warring factions and families. He reconciled, for instance, a bitter dispute between the Bishop of Assisi and the Mayor of Assisi. And in the legend of the Wolf of Gubio, St. Francis established peace between the citizens of Gubio and the wolf.

There are many references to St. Francis as a peacemaker but the most poignant is found in his own words. Near the end of his life, while in great pain, and while the Bishop and Mayor were locked in strife, he penned these words from his famous Canticle of the Creatures:

Praise be You, my Lord, through those
Who give pardon for Your love,
and bear infirmity and tribulation.
Blessed are those who endure in peace
for by You, Most high, shall they be crowned.

St. Francis was a man of peace but he was also caught up in the sheer goodness of God. There are many places where St. Francis refers to the goodness of God. This comes out, however, most overtly in many of his prayers. God is often addressed with such titles as "Most High, all-powerful, good Lord" or "You are good, all good, the highest good". In his Salutation to the Blessed Virgin Mary he refers to God as one "in whom there was and is all fullness of grace and every good." The prayer that most powerfully emphasises the goodness of God, however, is the prayer that concludes The Praises To Be Said at All the Hours:

All-powerful, most holy, most high, supreme God:
all good, supreme good, You who alone are good,
may we give You all praise, all glory, all thanks,
all blessing, and all good. So be it! So be it! Amen.
